Tezpur, a major town in the northern part of Assam is well connected by road to Guwahati, which is a major city and a business hub of not only Assam but the entire North-Eastern region of India. Guwahati is connected by air, rail and road to most major cities of the country. Also, one can fly to Guwahati from a few international and several domestic airports. Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), North-East Centre, Tezpur, Assam, is located in the outskirts of Tezpur town and is at a distance of about 10 kms from the ASTC Bus Stand. While reaching Tezpur via NH 27 (Nagaon side), one can get down at the Porua Chariali bus stop. If reaching via NH 15 (Mongoldoi side), one can get down at Mission Chariali and take an autorickshaw/e-rickshaw to reach Porua Chariali. Autorickshaw and e-rickshaw services towards Tezpur University/Solmara Village from Porua Chariali can drop you at the Institute.
On a daily basis, regular bus services run between the ASTC Bus Stand and Tezpur University at specified schedule as displayed in the official website of Tezpur University and revised from time to time. These services can be availed to reach the ISI-NE Centre.
Porua Chariali is the nearest point on the Highway to reach ISI North-East Centre and is well known to all around the town. Once you reach Porua Chariali, anyone can guide you to reach the centre, more popularly known as ISI.
