The North-East Centre of the Indian Statistical Institute organized an online training programme on "Panel Models And Their Applications" from 24 January to 28 January, 2022. This programme was meant for research fellows/scholars working in universities and institutes, who are actively engaged in empirical research in economics/finance or other related areas.

The aim of the programme was to provide an opportunity to the participants to familiarize themselves with the theories and methods of panel data analysis including some of its recent advances.

33. Was very well organized. Very informative. I really loved it when Kushal Sir explained with Chalk and Board. It's so easy to understand these difficult but necessary techniques used in Research. All 3 professors taught very well.

36. The training programme was very informative, it served the intended purpose. Next time also please keep an option for online even if it is paid, because due to some issues if some scholar is not able to reach to that place, then he/she can attend online as well.
37. The training session was really worthy as the theoritical understanding were backed by the practical hands-on training. The instructors were very friendly and encouraged participants to interact which lead more understanding in the minds of all students though some hesitate to speak up. Such type of training programs should be available free so that it can help integrate more students from economically backward students. I am really thankful for such initiative by the organizers (especially to Dr. Kushal).

39. It has been a pleasing experience to attend the winter school. I loved the lectures of Prof Kushal who ticked all the boxes of good trainer. He took care of basics in his lecture with adequate focus. What I loved about him was that he tried to give away a sense of philosophy in panel data econometrics. That will help me in keeping the lessons learned for a long time. I was also happy about interaction with Prof Sandip who was willing to throw some unanswered questions to audience for enriching the sessions. He addressed the questions from students well. I am also pleased with list of references provided during the sessions.
40. For me personally, it was very informative and insightful. In particular, I really am motivated and inspired by Prof Kushal da and Prof Sandip Sarkar's sessions (Prof Srikanta Kundu's area I am not familiar with and was exposed for the first time so I couldn't grasp everything). I have been mostly impacted by their lectures and their padegogy (theory + Q/A + practical application demonstrations in software) has compelled me to explore the panel data in more depth. Many of my doubts have got clarified by them and I can say for sure, at least with some degree of confidence, that I have got a fair understanding of panel data modeling. Overall, I can vouch that this workshop must be very beneficial for all of those who attended.
