EnvironmentAl ResearcH LaboratorY (EARtHLY)

at the North-East Centre of Indian Statistical Institute (ISI)

EARtHLY is affiliated to the

Theoretical and Applied Sciences Unit (TASU),

Physics and Earth Sciences Division (PESD), Indian Statistical Institute.

Research at EARtHLY

What we do? EARtHLY carries out research to improve understanding of environmental contamination and related processes such as source, emission, transport, chemistry, fate, and exposure. Focus areas of research are atmospheric pollution and exposure assessment. EARtHLY aims to study climate altering contaminants such as black carbon (BC) in various matrices of the environment and study various carbon pools.

How we do our research? Sampling tools are used for collecting samples, wet chemistry techniques are used for organic and inorganic contaminant analysis in laboratory using analytical instrumentation, and statistical techniques are used to interpret experimental results.
